Living in Canton, GA
Life in Canton can mean coffee downtown, an afternoon by the Etowah River, or dinner at a restored historic mill. Set among the rolling hills of Cherokee County, this welcoming community brings together historic charm, local businesses, and plenty of ways to enjoy the outdoors.

History of Canton
Incorporated in 1834, Canton developed into an important textile community, with cotton mills helping shape its economy and identity. That industrial heritage remains visible at The Mill on Etowah, where a former cotton mill now welcomes visitors for shopping, dining, and entertainment. Historic downtown buildings offer another connection to the city’s past.

Downtown offers a historic setting, while Riverstone Parkway near Exit 20 provides additional everyday conveniences. When comparing neighborhoods, consider how each location fits your commute, outdoor interests, and daily routine.

Julie’s Perspective on Canton
“This area in Cherokee County is beautiful with lots of beautiful residential neighborhoods with plenty of rolling hills. This sprawling area has lots of restaurants and shops in the downtown area as well as off of exit 20. Lots of things to do in Canton with Etowah River Park, the lake, and Reformation Brewery. My favorite thing to do in this area is ride my bike at Blankets Creek which is one of the premier mountain biking trails in the Southeast US.”
